Experience

I have managed contracts across customers, vendors, partners, and employees, handling negotiations, compliance, and amendments. I have overseen the full contract lifecycle—creation, execution, and analysis.

I demystify complex technologies for non-technical stakeholders using whiteboard walkthroughs, visual charts, screen-sharing demos and video tutorials. By tailoring metaphors and interactive sessions to diverse audiences, I foster engagement, accelerate adoption, streamline decisions and build scalable, multilingual knowledge-transfer programs that align vision with execution.

Since 2019, I've led departments at board and operational levels, defining strategic technical roadmaps, building agile teams, managing budgets, and delivering continuous improvements. As Sprint Master, I optimize KPIs and cross-functional workflows. I advise executives, champion culture, and vet emerging technologies, ensuring scalable, innovative solutions that drive growth and excellence.

Since 2020 I have been responsible for the management of budgets and capital utilization to make investments designed to help organizations reach their objectives, controlling the budgets of technology departments and technical projects. Whilst at Barclaycard I was responsible for the warehouse management, distribution, procurement, and purchase of all Barclaycard PDQ terminals. This is a budget of over £8 million per annum. This included implementing cost control and extensive forecasting and analysis.

I have more recent experience with agile-scrum. Whilst at Comic Relief I acted as the facilitator for agile website development (scrum-master) within the team. Allowing the team to self-organize and make changes quickly, in accordance with agile principles.

Clearly, my entire lengthy career has revolved around technology. I have based my work on the pillars of Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimisation, and Sustainability.

I have five years of experience in building applications and environments with security built in. Day-to-day duties have included mitigation against injection, broken authentication, sensitive data exposure, XML external entities (XXE), broken access control, security misconfiguration, cross-site scripting (XSS), insecure deserialization, using components with known vulnerabilities, insufficient logging, and monitoring. I am very knowledgeable regards GDPR legislation and oWasp standards.

I have been using AWS since 2015 (EC2, S3, Route 53, Loadbalancer, RDS, Cloud formation, code deploy, WAF, Elasticache, Docker, Kubernetes. This includes configuration, use of, and extension of aws-cli. I wrote Danielle-Cli. I also have experience with MS Azure, Digital Ocean, GoDaddy (Krystal), Google Cloud, Node4, FastHost, and Rackspace. I have headed up two dev-ops departments.

I have fifteen years of experience with DRUPAL 4 - 10 having used it for content management of a large number of sites that I have used to support a diverse range of web projects ranging from government websites to large community-driven charity sites. My knowledge includes creating modules for DRUPAL.

I have worked with PHP since its first appearance in 1994/5. Clearly Drupal is my PHP specialism framework; however, I have worked with WordPress, Magento, Symfony, Moodle, x-cart, Laravel, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Zend, Prestashop, and Slim.
